What are some fun things to do with kids in London?

Theatre, Tower of London, London Eye, what would you recommend to someone who is taking their kids to London?

Ian, here are my suggestions. Of course, I'm not sure what age your kids are, so pick and choose from these places.

A list of kid-friendly places in London. Depending on the age of your kids, some of these places may not fit. Intentionally omitted are the London Zoo and Madame Tussaud's (not worth it), Bond St...

You could also take a trip to the West End to visit London's huge amount of theatres! There is always a variety of fantastic musicals playing in central London, and a great deal of these are suitable for children, such as The Wizard of Oz, The Lion King and Dreamboats and Petticoats. My personal recommendation would be Shrek the Musical at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane - not only has this only just opened, but the humour should be a hit with both adults and children. You can check out http://www.theatreticketscheap.com/shrek-the-musical for more details.

Here is a list/map of places that I think would work out pretty well for few different ages.
          Science Museum
          London Dungeon
          Diana Memorial Playground
          London Duck (boat) Tour
Harrods Toy department or Hamley's Toy Store
          London Zoo
I worked for Warner Bros here in LA for about 3 years and heard they are planning a Harry Potter tour at Leavesden Studios which will display props, costumes and sets from the films but I think that won't be until Spring of 2012.

As per my comments: for any age kid: the Eye, a ferris wheel that gives you a bird's eye view of all London. It's along the Southbank. And further on is the Tate Modern Museum with all kinds of wild gadgets which wowed even our Granny. For older kids who study, continue on to the Shakespearean Globe Theatre. After that, early to bed.
