Ancient Greece was the cradle of western civilisation, where achievements in arts, humanities and sciences created the foundations of European culture. This fundamental importance and breadth of interest makes a visit to the ancient sites of Greece a profoundly satisfying experience. This trip is an archaeological tour of Greece derived from my work as a guide-lecturer on archaeology tours. It could be followed on the ground as a complete tour lasting about two weeks, but I have focused on archaeological interest rather than travel practicalities.
