Official start of the Euroadtrip2012! Our first ride goes to south Bulgaria!
----------------
Istanbul is a place with historical monuments par excellence just like the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Topkapi Palace and many more.
We’re planing on having an official kickoff party here before we start the trip.
For those who arrive already a couple of days before or who stay in Istanbul anyway we are offering to come together with us and see the Basak Culture and Art Centre which one of the social projects we will support with the funds we want to raise. - Thursday, August 2, 2012
-
Our first destination will be the south-eastern city Kardzhali in Bulgaria which is a rather small place.
- Sunday, August 5, 2012
-
Next we will go for the harbour city Thessaloniki in Greece.
----------------
Thessaloniki in Greece is with more than a million habitants the second biggest city in the country. With its mixture of Roman, Ottoman, Byzantine, European and Greek ruins it is a cultural jewel of Greece.
This is the first time where we have the chance to get down with our street art activities. - Wednesday, August 8, 2012

Beachsession in Platamonas
----------------
After having been in our first big city we want to have the group together again somewhere on a beach. Campfire, guitar, sleeping in the tents, having a fresh bath in the morning…we will decided as a group where to go.
Basically it should be something not too far away from Thessaloniki and also next we will head for Macedonia.
Either we will give precise information when we figured something out or we do it spontaneously - Sunday, August 12, 2012

After a relaxing session at the beach we will to Ohrid in Macedonia
----------------
Have you ever heard of this place? We didn’t, so okay let’s go there and see how it is. It is a town in Macedonia located at the beatiful Ohrid Lake with about 40.000 inhabitants. The old city centre with its monasteries, mosques and churches has been well conserved and forms together with the lake a great place.
In 1979 the UNESCO declared both the city and the lake as a world cultural heritage. - Thursday, August 16, 2012

The capital of Albania is the one we’re going to go
-----------------------------------------
The picture of the city is a little bit oriental but predominately are there the simply concrete buildings around.
This is due to the most recent history where many people from the countryside came into the city. That’s why nowadays the difference between rich and poor has tremendously increased. On the one hand you can see nice mansions of the more affluent people, in other parts of the city people live in baracks with no infrastructure at all. - Monday, August 20, 2012

Next country is Montenegro where we will stop in Bar
----------------
After Albania we going to go to the Adriadic Coast and will go to Bar in Montenegro.
Due to a heavy earthquake in 1979 the old city called Stari Bar which is located a little bit uphill had to be given up and the new town had been built immediately directly at the coast. That’s why nowadays the city’s picture is rather dominated by modern houses, hotels and the huge port. In the old city, however, are still the old ruins of the past centuries to find. - Friday, August 24, 2012

Second destination in Montenegro is Plužine
----------------
We will go to the northern part of Montenegro to Plužine which is located next to the lake Piva. We are still checking out if there is a good spot to go camping over there somewhere. It will definitely take a long while to get there but the ride will truly be worth it.
We will let ourselves getting surprised when we get there. - Tuesday, August 28, 2012

Going further to Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
----------------
Our next stop will in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The most recognized symbol of Mostar is its famous bridge “Stari Most” which is crossing the Neretva River. Back in the 16th century when it was first built it represented a masterpiece of architecture.
Ever since it used to be a symbol for the Islamic World the and Christianity, the connection between East and West.
After having resisted every war in the past, in 1993 the bridge had been destroyed during the Yugoslavian war. It took more than ten years before it was be repaired again. - Saturday, September 1, 2012

Heading over to Croatia's coast town Zadar
----------------
Being the capital of Dalmatina with its characteristic peninsula and the old architecture which makes it to a unique cultural place. That’s why many tourists come to this place. On the one hand we hopefully won’t get into an overcrowded tourist destination. On the other hand we want to show them what we do so it is going to be another surprise for us. - Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Next stay is the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana
----------------
Ljubljana is the capital and the biggest city in Slovenia – located at river named Ljubljanica that has lots of bridges which is a fabulous thing especially in the night.
Also, Ljubljana has a big variety of cultural features just like the castle, the old town and many baroque churches.
A great place for us to stay for a couple days and to go for some incredible street performances. - Sunday, September 9, 2012
-
Verona near the Lake Garda
----------------------------------------
Bella Italia! We chose Verona as our next destination. In 2000 the city has been awarded World Heritage Site status because of its urban structure and architecture. Maybe we can also make it to the near-by located Lake Garda. Anyway we will probably busy do some nice street art things over there. - Friday, September 14, 2012

Geneva, Switzerland
----------------
We will now leave the Mediterranean area straight up north to Geneva in Switzerland. This is the French speaking part of this country. It is a global city, important for the financial world and centre of diplomacy, e.g. the Geneva Conventions have been signed there.
We should definitely use CouchSurfing for now, Switzerland is really expensive :) - Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Welcome to Freiburg in the Black Forrest, Germany!
----------------
The journey will proceed to Germany into the Black Forest where we will stay in Freiburg im Breisgau. It’s a rather small city which is only a few kilometres away from Switzerland and France. It has lots students and is known as the Green City in Germany. As quick as you get somewhere within the city as quick you get to the beautiful nature around Freiburg.
The conditions to have some street arts over there are fantastic so we should go for it. - Monday, September 24, 2012
